今日は洋楽とライム (韻、rhyme) について書きます。
洋楽が好きな方ならお気づきかもしれませんが。。。
洋楽は必ずと言っていいほど韻を踏んでます。ほんとうに聴き心地がいいです！
韻とは・・・
If a poem or song rhymes, the lines end with words that have very similar sounds.
(詩または歌が韻を踏むということは、複数の行が似た音で終わること）

例えば、
friends/ends, pain/insane, forever/over
スペルが同じじゃなくても、発音が同じですね。
things/sin, face/mistake,
(あまり似ていなくても、ei の音が一緒なのものは 'off-rhyme' といいます）
reckless/breathless
これは 1 度に 2 つ韻を踏んでいますね！ (reck/breath は単語の中なので、internal rhyme といいます。）
最後に、
torture/warn ya, ex-lovers/players
なんだかドラマチックな単語ばかり並んでしまいましたね。。。
それもそのはず、全部この曲から持ってきた韻だからです！
